good quote

" In my opinion, the great single need of the moment is that light-hearted superficial religionists be struck down with a vision of God high and lifted up, with His train filling the temple. The holy art of worship seems to have passed away like the Shekinah glory from the tabernacle. As a result, we are left to our own devices and forced to make up the lack of spontaneous worship by ...bringing in countless cheap and tawdry activities to hold the attention of the church people." ~ A.W. Great is THY faithfulness Lord unto me

I was reading through a book tonight that a dear lady in my church gave to me; "Heart of a Handmaiden" and in it the lady talks about how the Lord encouraged her that though she saw herself as a nobody that God often chooses those who are seemingly unqualified to do great things because then HE gets the glory instead of them.
It was an encouragement for me too but for a different reason. I was kind of the opposite from her. I have always had dreams of grandeur of the things I wanted to do for the Lord; Ideas too many to count that I thought were great ideas. But you see, the Lord also knows that I have a bit of a pride issue too and so He keeps me humble. To look at my life I can not see any of those GRAND things that I had always thought I would do, like leading hundreds to the Lord or raising thousands of dollars to support some ministry because if I did.. well, I'm sure I would probably be trying to toot my own horn about it instead of giving God the glory for it. I can not see what is ahead and so I must step out one step at a time in faith. I do not have loads of money and so I must trust that God will provide, I do not have resources abounding and so God must supply every need. And you know what... I'm am so blessed and so thankful for each morsel that He has provided. I love my simple, no fame life. I love that each day I get to do just the simple things, just the quiet things, the things that most often go unnoticed by most. And in this time I have come to love that old hymn "Great is THY Faithfulness" because the words are so true. "All I have needed Thy hand hath provided. GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS LORD UNTO ME"
