I found this painted on a coaster and liked it so now I'm sharing it with all of you...
We are the sons and daughters of Hibernia
proud heirs of an ancient legacy.
We've settled every corner of the globe,
driven from our homeland by famine and oppression
or simply by the restless spirit that's our birthright.
Wherever we go, we bring with us a love of freedom,
a melancholy humor, a biting wit and a golden tongue.
But regardless of where destiny may take us,
We're linked to the land of our ancestors by an
ethereal thread that binds the heart
and reminds us always
that we are a unique people.
We are the Irish!
" In my opinion, the great single need of the moment is that light-hearted superficial religionists be struck down with a vision of God high and lifted up, with His train filling the temple. The holy art of worship seems to have passed away like the Shekinah glory from the tabernacle. As a result, we are left to our own devices and forced to make up the lack of spontaneous worship by ...bringing in countless cheap and tawdry activities to hold the attention of the church people." ~ A.W.
